A band active in 1964 - 1969, with earlier roots in another Kraków big-beat band - see
Ametysty
Material on the internet covers the band's earlier history. Nothing has been published about
its line-up and activity towards the end, in 1968-1969 - a gap I am trying to fill. At the end of
1969 the group - after its members left for other bands - ceased to exist.
Barbara, the first sweetheart of Tadeusz Gogosz, had a brother, Janusz. Tadeusz and Janusz used to call
each other "szwagier" ("brother-in-law"). Wiesław Dymny liked that very much: "The Brothers in Law", he said,
and that is how the band got its name.
One of the earliest beat groups in Kraków,
it was the first to make records,
released by the MUZA label, among them:
"Dobry rok", "Wesele" (compilation),
"Ulica sztuczna", "Hura huba" - (recorded in 1965, cat. no. N-0370).
Radio recordings (FM) were made as well,
including further songs such as:
"Leniwa głowa", "Tak długo byłem zakochany",
"Huk-puk", "Leń", "Dla Ciebie", "Hura huba". They were released on LPs, and later
also on cassettes and LPs. The lyrics were written by the band's literary
and artistic director, Wiesław Dymny.
The last line-up (1980)
was formed from musicians who had earlier played in other Kraków beat bands.
In its new line-up the group made several radio recordings and took part in two television programmes
together with the groups 2+1 and KRYWAŃ.
