The story of Wawelskie Smoki ("The Wawel Dragons") covers the years 1965-1970. At first
the band was based at Rydlówka, later it moved to the "Sokół" club on Sokolska Street
in Podgórze.
At that club the line-up changed many times. Concerts were held
at "Sokół" and at "Szopa" on Rakowicka Street. "Szopa" often hosted contests and beat "matches"
between bands.
In Szczawnica band members Aleksander Glik and Jan Wojdak took their musicians' verification exams -
the examiner was Zbigniew Namysłowski himself. Further verifications took place at the Feniks - almost
every member of the band passed.
