In 1964 / 1965 Andrzej Nowak, who taught for many years at the Nowa Huta music school, founded a band (with no name) in the line-up: Andrzej Nowak - keyboards, Józef Hochołek - (magic) trumpet, Edward Kłosek - sax, Jerzy Szota - guitar, Roman Antkowiak - accordion, vocals, Józef Król - drums.
The band moved from its home at the school to the "Jedynka" club, because there were no suitable rooms at the school. We took the name KIX. At that time I switched to drums (who would have wanted to play the "little radiator" - the accordion - in those days??). The band was also joined by several beautiful girls (of whom we were very proud). Singing with us were: Bożenka Sularczyk (my heart still beats faster to this day....), Alicja Urbaś, Zina Szadkowska. I do not remember in which year Kaziu Malec fell ill and asked me to stand in for him; there was a partial merger of Kix with Big-5, as they were also joined by Józiu Hochołek and Jurek (Piast) Szota.
Those were wonderful times!!.... I will add that some time after me the drums in Big-5 were played by Ryszard Kozłowski. The band's repertoire consisted of the songs that were in vogue at the time...
